in the ray of light οn the piano

-while the lamp that shines the darkness

remains oblivious to my existence there-

an inner starless night·

the keys’ frozen smile

a perfect set of teeth

of a cheery melody’s expression

I wish it could take after

and then smile -a Chopin nocturne

of flashing stars
